Wes McCarville Qualifies by Petition for November Ballot
McCarville’s Campaign to Take Florida State House of Representatives, District 29, Seat Off to Tremendous Start
Wes McCarville, Democratic candidate for Florida House of Representatives, District 29, has qualified for the November ballot by collecting nearly 1000 signed petitions from the electorate. Needing less than 900 petitions to qualify, Mr. McCarville and volunteers throughout Brevard and Indian River counties collected more than 1100 petitions from registered voters, with nearly 1000 being accepted as fully valid by the Supervisor of Elections’ offices in both counties.
“I am inspired by the turnout of volunteers and supporters for my candidacy,” Mr. McCarville stated. “It was great to see the skills of so many people applying their local knowledge to gather petitions for my campaign in the most efficient manner possible. The differences between areas within my district required different approaches from individual volunteers, but working together we gather more than enough to qualify. To see these volunteers work so quickly and energetically for my candidacy, I am sure we can win this election working together.”
Not entering the race until early April, Wes McCarville’s campaign had less than two months to gather the required petitions to qualify his candidacy. But, with the few weeks available, volunteers of all ages, all political parties, and all areas of the district rallied to make certain Mr. McCarville successfully qualified.
Florida House of Representatives, district 29, extends from the southern border of Indian River County, through the western majority of the county, and extends through Central Brevard County all the way up to Port St. John and Titusville. Almost 70% of the district residents live in Brevard County, with the remainder living in Indian River County. Wes McCarville lives in the heart of the district, in the Central Brevard County City of Rockledge.
Mr. McCarville’s campaign message of economic prosperity balanced by fiscal integrity, improved treatment of veterans, and outreach to female voters of all ages has brought in a significant volunteer force to his campaign.
“I appreciate such a motivated candidate fighting for the interests I value,” stated Beth McMillen, one of the Wes McCarville campaign volunteers. “Wes has listened to my needs and responded, so I am proud to help his campaign in any way I can.”
Currently facing no other Democratic entrants in the race, it appears Wes McCarville will be facing a direct showdown with the long-time Republican incumbent. Having never faced any opposition when running for re-election, the GOP incumbent faces a whole new challenge to maintain his seat against a young, energizing disabled Army veteran with enough political experience to unseat the 6 year incumbent from Vero Beach.
